Mami Nagasaki is a partner of the firm. Ms. Nagasaki’s practice focuses on general corporate, litigation and arbitration, rehabilitation and bankruptcy, and international transactions.
Ms. Nagasaki has represented a major Japanese construction company in a number of lawsuits concerning alleged defects of construction and other disputes. She has also represented a major textile manufacturer in its application for corporate rehabilitation proceedings. Ms. Nagasaki has also successfully represented an American company in a lawsuit in which the international jurisdiction of Japanese courts was negated.
Ms. Nagasaki regularly advises corporate clients in various industry sectors in such areas as M&A, corporate restructuring, corporate rehabilitation and insolvency matters, and international transactions.
Ms. Nagasaki was admitted to the Bar of Japan in 1998. She joined Ishii Law Office in 1998 and became a partner in 2009. She received an LL.M. degree from Duke Law School in 2004 and an LL.B. degree from Keio University in 1996. She worked at Marshal Suzuki Law Group in San Francisco in 2004. She also worked at the Planning and Coordination Bureau of the Financial Services Agency from 2005 to 2006, where she was engaged in negotiations and drafting of bilateral economic cooperation agreements between Japan and several foreign countries. Ms. Nagasaki is a member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association and the Japan Federation of Bar Associations. She speaks Japanese and English.
